  14. <p>    EXTRADITED. Adnan Khashoggi, 54, ostentatious, peripatetic
  15. (twelve residences) multimillionaire Saudi businessman and
  16. financier; to New York City from a jail in Bern, Switzerland.
  17. Arrested by Swiss authorities last April at the request of U.S.
  18. prosecutors, he is charged with helping Ferdinand Marcos and
  19. his wife Imelda in real estate deals financed with funds stolen
  20. from the Philippine Treasury. Under terms of the extradition,
  21. Khashoggi will face prosecution for mail fraud and obstruction
  22. of justice but will not be tried on more serious racketeering
  23. charges, which are not punishable under Swiss law. Held without
  24. bail until his true worth is determined, Khashoggi faces five
  25. years in jail and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
